Teuku Umar University (UTU) has been declared as central Campus of the South West Aceh Community since the issuance of the operational permit in 2006. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono signed the Presidential Decree for Teuku Umar University No. 25/2014 concerning the Establishment of Teuku Umar University. UTU already Since then, UTU continues to strive to improve the quality of facilities and infrastructure. On March 14, 2014 has 6 Faculties, namely the Faculty of Agriculture (FP), the Faculty of Public Health (FKM), the Faculty of Engineering (FT), the Faculty of Economics (FE), the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK). UTU currently has 20 Study Programs. UTU has a vision "To become the source of inspiration and reference in the development of science, technology and business in the agro and marine industry based on regional (2025), national (2040), and international (2060) rankings through innovative research, creative and highly competitive. " UTU's Core Products are agro and Marine Industry. Universitas Teuku Umar’ Missions are : To organize science, technology, information and cultural development programs relevant to development needs both regionally, nationally and internationally; To produce innovative and highly competitive research to support the development and development of science and technology; To Produce and disseminate research results that can be used as references in the development of science and business; To produce science and technology relevant to market needs; To have graduates who have high enthusiasm for entrepreneurship. Currently the total students in UTU have reached 6000 originated from various places in Indonesia such as North Sumatera, West Sumatera, and Java. UTU is located in Alue Peunyareng street, meureubo Sub-district, Meulaboh, Aceh Barat District. It is 11 Km away from Meulaboh City Centre and it takes 11 minutes to reach by using vehicle. All Faculties and other buildings used for academic purposes are located centrally in Meureubo. The entire layout and infrastructure development of Teuku Umar University is based on the UTU Strategic Plans
