Universitas Terbuka

The Universitas Terbuka is the 45th State University in Indonesia which was inaugurated on September 4 1984. The aim is to overcome the explosion of high school graduates who cannot be absorbed into either the world of work or higher education. The establishment of UT was intended to answer two big issues in the world of education at that time, namely the low quality of teachers and the limited capacity of higher education. In line with the spirit of the open and distance education movement which began to resonate on the world stage through the establishment of The Open University in England, the Open University carries the spirit of equitable access to higher education on the national stage.
