"Universitas Udayana (Unud) is a state university established on August 17, 1962, based on the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science Number 104 of 1962 dated August 9, 1962, which was confirmed by a Decree of President Number 18 the year 1963 dated 13 January 1963. Located in Bali as a beautiful small island with well-known indigenous cultural characteristics and world-class tourist destinations, Unud is expected to contribute to the development and maintenance of indigenous culture. The university has a strong position as one of the leading universities, particularly in the Eastern region of Indonesia. The university offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as undergraduate certificates/diplomas, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and doctorate degrees in several areas of study. The current number of active students is 28,000 coming from various regions of Indonesia and around 3,250 degree and non-degree international students coming from Europe, America, Asia, and Australia in the last three years. It is supported by 1,635 academic staff and 1,572 administrative staff. By the end of Jan 2021, Unud has graduated as many as 62,233 students and is currently listed in rank 23 out of nearly 2,136 higher education institutions around the country in the Quality Cluster of higher education performance in Indonesia in 2020 Version of the Ministry of Education and Culture."
