Universitas Sriwijaya

Universitas Sriwijaya was established on November 3, 1960 in which the establishment charter was signed by President of Indonesian Republic. Main Campus with area of ± 712 hectares is located in Inderalaya, Ogan Ilir Districts and another Campus with area of ± 20 hectares is located in Palembang City. Universitas Sriwijaya has vision to be the leading university with research base in various fields of science and technology. It has missions to perform and develop higher education to produce qualified graduates; to perform and develop research to promote learning quality, science and technology; to perform and develop community services; to perform talent development for students; to perform cooperation with other national or international institutions and to establish professional, effective, efficient and accountable management system. Nine Rector programs was appointed for the periode of 2019 – 2023 to accelerate Universitas Sriwijaya towards World Class University, namely: updating academic and firming learning process; strengthening outcome-based research, patent, and publication; integrated community and public services; international program; big data, IT-based management, and smart campus; bureaucracy reformation and simplification regulation; upgrading human resources, infrastructure for learning process, laboratory, IT and welfare and developing Business Management Agency (BPU). There are ten Faculties in Universitas Sriwijaya, namely Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Computer Science and Faculty of Public Health and one Graduate Program for performing missions and the Rector Programs. Research Institution and Community Service performs research and community service, as well as, publication management. Institute for Learning Development and Education Quality Assurance manages development of teaching and learning, information system for teaching and learning, quality assurance, and accreditation management. Universitas Sriwijaya has 1,275 lectures and 1,306 education staffs with 34,970 students. Universitas Sriwijaya conducts undergraduate and graduate programs, as well as, medical specialists. Universitas Sriwijaya has cooperation with Universities abroad such as University of Kentucky, Kyungdong University, Murray State University, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Islamic International University Malaysia and Saga University. The facilities that support teaching and learning process, as well as, research, that is digital library, Information and Computing Center, Laboratories, Student Center, Sport Facilities, Student Apartments, Student Training Center, Auditorium, Agro Techno Center, Field Laboratories, Arboretum, Experimental Garden and Campus Ground. Universitas Sriwijaya has research centers such as Fuel Cell, Environment, Energy, Suboptimal Land and Transportation. Universitas Sriwijaya develops some facilities such as student character building and Taman Firdaus Education Park for education, research and community services
