UIN Mataram has a long history and a journey full of struggles as a manifestation of the aspirations of the Muslim community in West Nusa Tenggara to produce generations of Muslim leaders and intellectuals. It began as the preparatory school for IAIN Al-Jami'ah Yogyakarta in 1963 and has evolved through various phases of institutional transformation, from the Faculty of Tarbiyah at IAIN Sunan Ampel, to STAIN Mataram, before finally becoming IAIN Mataram in 2004, and is now known as UIN Mataram. Vision of UIN Mataram "To become a university with international competitiveness through the integration of sciences, in building a pious, moderate, intelligent, and superior society." Mission of UIN Mataram - To provide innovative education and teaching based on the integration of knowledge. - To enhance the quality of research and scientific publications based on the horizon of knowledge. - To strengthen the contribution to community service through social solutions and religious moderation. - To expand national and international cooperation for the strengthening of the university's tri-dharma. - To develop university governance based on the principles of good governance.
