In the beginning, IT-PLN named STT-PLN operated since 1998, with the location of the campus at that time at the Indonesia Power Building, Jl. Gatot Subroto. The IT-PLN manager is the PLN Education and Welfare Foundation, abbreviated as YPK-PLN. YPK-PLN was founded by PLN in the same year, namely 1998. In January 2020 STT-PLN changed its form to IT-PLN consisting of 7 (five) Faculty: - Faculty of Electricity and Renewable Energy - Faculty of Technology and Energy Business - Faculty of Infrastructure and Territorial Technology - Faculty of Telematics for Energy - Faculty of Postgraduate Program - Postgraduate School - Vocational School The main purpose of establishing IT-PLN is to form a forum for PLN experts to transfer their knowledge to the next generation. Along with the increasing demand for electrical energy, large-scale power plants using fuel oil, coal and gas have also begun to be built—likewise, the Geothermal Power Plant (PLTP). The speedy growth of demand in Java Island led to the birth of the Java - Bali interconnection system with a length of up to thousands of kilometres and using an extra high voltage of 500 kV. With a PLN background as above, skilled personnel from the disciplines of Civil, Electrical, Machinery and Informatics engineering while PLN exist, become a necessity. For this reason, IT-PLN was established. ITPLN has several study programs including Electrical Engineering, Electrical Power Engineering, Energy Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Technopreneurship, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Regional Development (Geography), Environmental Engineering, Information Technology, and Information Systems. VISION To become a university with international class, modern, independent, and superior in the field of energy and technology with an environmental perspective MISSION 1. Organizing academic and vocational education programs that are modern, independent, and superior with good governance with international standards; 2. Carrying out applied research that focuses on energy and technology that is environmentally sound for human welfare; 3.
