Jambi University is one of the state universities in Jambi Province which offers higher education from various scientific disciplines. In 1960, the Djambi Commercial Academy was established under the auspices of the Djambi College Service. Base on the Decree of the Minister of PTIP No. 105 of 1962 dated August 15, 1962, the Preparatory Committee for the Establishment of the University of Jambi was formed. In 1966, Decree of the President of the Republic of Indonesia No. 148 was issued which stipulated the establishment of this university under the name Jambi University. Currently Jambi University has 13 faculties, namely the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Teaching and Education, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Humanities, Faculty of Social Sciences and Politics, Faculty of Forestry, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Sports, as well as a Postgraduate program. The total number of active study programs served is 82 study programs consisting of 4 Doctoral level study programs, 19 Masters level study programs, 49 Bachelor level study programs, 2 Diploma 4 study programs and 8 Diploma 3 study programs. Mission: Strive for and ensure access to quality and affordable higher education for all levels of society based on the principle of equality and excellent higher education services; Develop and disseminate science, technology and art through education, research and community service; Carry out quality education and develop entrepreneurial creativity according to the talents and interests of students; To produce entrepreneurial graduates from various scientific fields who are competitive and able to apply knowledge according to their fields in a professional manner; Carry out various creative and innovative researches that support the implementation of quality entrepreneur education, both at the National and International levels; Improving academic quality standards with national and international standards.
