Universitas Medan Area

Universitas Medan Area has two campus sites; the main campus is at Jalan Kolam Nomor 1 Medan Estate, which faculties and rectorate buildings occupy and another one is located at Jalan Setia Budi. UMA has a total area of 138,775.79 m2, with the ratio of open space area being 87,28% larger than the area of the building. UMA has a mini forest inside the campus with the total area of 21723.04 m2 which is dominated by rare plant species. The forest does not only provide oxygen, protect water shade and reduce heat; it is also used for academic activities, such as photography and videography classes which the communication studies department holds, taxonomy classes which the biology department holds, etc. The butterfly park is also set within the forest area and is occupied for educational purposes. It is one of UMA's open spaces for visitors, and it is free for visitors. UMA has seven faculties with 16 departments for the undergraduate program, four departments for the master program, and 1 Doctoral program (S3). The seven faculties are Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Psychology, and Faculty of Science and Technology. UMA carries out learning and educational activities by prioritizing the quality of education, especially for the lecturers, students, and alumni by the Vision and Mission of UMA, i.e., "Innovative, Professional and Personable" as well as keeps adapting to the latest conditions and the latest developments in information and communication technology.
